Talk Story > 6 Days and Counting to Hawaii!
Hi Joyce! You are too incredibly awesome! I really hope you enjoy my book, it is a thriller and meant to be read in a sitting! I am working on the second book in the series now.
We do have seats available on Thursday, your first day in port, but Friday, February 17th is already full in the morning. There is one other couple with you on the 9:30 flight, also from your ship.
Did you find an excursion for Thursday? Are you renting a car or did you find a tour you like?
See you soon, and look forward to meeting you as well. Again, thank you so much for your support, it is fantastic.
Aloha,
Ellen

Aloha Ellen & Bruce
You asked about our plans for 2/16. I think renting a car is our best bet. Bruce will show us Wailua Falls from the sky but I'm wondering if it's possible to swim in it's lagoon? I also am interested in horseback riding. Princeville Ranch has a 3 hour Waterfall Picnic excursion that seems fun. My husband, John, reminds me that I can't do it all but I can sure try.

Well now you are an adventuresome one! My son has managed to swim at Wailua Falls, but I have not done that. It involves a pretty good climb down using some ropes some kids put up. He says it's not too hard but then he does the 11 mile hike on the NaPali Coast in the dark! I think that Waterfall Picnic does sound like fun. I haven't done it but it sounds cool! Swimming in waterfalls is not as easy as it used to be. The private land owners keep getting sued by people who trespass across their land and then lose a loved one when someone dies in the waterfall. Now that makes no sense to me, but it happens quite a bit. So I think your best chance of swimming in a waterfall is that horseback ride or the kayak trip up Wailua River which will take at least 5 hours. I do think renting a car is a good idea. You spent the money to be here, so the little bit more to have the freedom to get around and see and do everything seems well worth it!

Aloha Ellen & Bruce,
On February 6, at 4:15 pm our plane will be landing in Honolulu, hurray! Yesterday in the mail, from Amazon.com, Ellen's book, "The Mutator" arrived. That should keep me busy on the long flight and the days to follow. Looking forward to meeting the two of you, on February 17, when my husband, John, and I will be taking our flight with "Wings Over Kauai". I read your response to Fernanda yesterday. Is our 9:30 am plane full or can we still find a couple on NCL that might want to fly with us?
